    Description

Offered for your consideration is a working Olson Electronics AM-214 vacuum tube amplifier. I acquired this amplifier in non-working condition many years ago. It just sat on the shelf and now was the time to bring it back into working condition. All of the Suzuki paper in oil capacitors have been replaced as well as a few small electrolytic capacitors. Most of those paper in oil capacitors were very leaky and would cause harm to the tubes. Filter capacitors are still original and the amp does not hum and the filters do not get warm. For a complete restoration, it wouldn't hurt to replace them as well.
I found some rather shoddy repair done to the amplifier, like components just tack soldered to a lug. All of that dodgy repair has been removed. Every single component was unsoldered, all of the old lead removed and the new capacitor was properly soldered in place. No "J" hook replacements. Needless to say, doing repairs that way took a lot of time. But I have pride in what I do and wanted it to be as good or better than when it left Japan. The removed components will come with this amplifier so that you can examine them!
Tubes are original Mitsubishi and all test good.
    Complement is:
    4 - 6BM8/ECL82
    2 - 12AX7/ECC83
    1 - 6CA4/EZ81
Power output is modest with about 14-17 watts per channel. It's not a powerhouse. But it would make a nice background amplifier and with efficient speakers would be able to fill a room. I has typical controls from the mid-60s such as Loudness Compensation, Scratch and Rumble Filter. It has a balance control, and separate Bass & Treble for each channel. Input includes AUX, Tuner, Magnetic Phono etc. Also has a headphone jack that works.
You probably know that most if not all control knobs from this era have lost their metal bright caps. This amplifier was no different. It now has reproduction brass caps which were attached with the legendary "JB Weld". Not original I know but much better looking than a knob with a hole in it!
Please, look very carefully at all of the pictures. This amplifier is not new. It is over 50 years old. No doubt, equipment was not intended to last this long. But here it is. That said, it is offered as-is/where-is with no warranty or return. Please keep this in mind when you bid. Questions should be asked prior to bidding.
Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail with signature required. There are too many "Porch Pirates" out there and this will protect you and me from fraud. Unfortunately, I no longer will ship Internationally. US shipping only. Payment is via PayPal and is expected within 5 business days. Shipping will be within 3 business days and is usually done on the next business day after payment is received.
Again, please look at the pictures and ask questions before bidding. Thanks for looking.
