    Description

Offered is the Western Electric 100F Loudspeaker. These units were used with Telephone equipment in Private Lines or Intercom systems. It is basically a single-ended tube audio amp.  Tube lineup is as follows:  25Z5, 43 and 77-the tubes are tested and they are OK.  This is an early version of the 100F, later models used octal style tubes.  It uses fixed big brown ceramic resistors for filament ballast, later versions used a ballast tube. The chassis is dusty, but clean overall, with no rust.  The electronics appear original with the exception of a cap added and possibly a replacement can filter cap.  The cabinet has some loose veneer, but it is not too severe and the cabinet is basically solid. The cabinet finish is the original-it has flaked off in spots and it shows wear.  There is no Western Electric decal visible on the cabinet.  It has no back panel. The speaker is an original Jensen with a nice big Alnico Magnet.  The knobs appear original, but these two have no little white dots. The loudspeaker amp powers up on a variac.  One of the power switches is open and it was jumped with a test lead for testing.  This switch could be cleaned or replaced by the winning bidder.  The tubes and pilot lamp light up.  The amp produces audio in the speaker when a test lead was touched to the input. No extensive testing was performed.  Pick up this early version of the 100F for your own audio project or collection.  These models are seldom offered and I cannot find another like it on line.  Offered strictly "as is" and as found amongst the radioman's estate parts boxes, shed-stored.  NO RESERVE!! Thanks for looking.
