Vintage Pilot PT-1028 mono-block amplifier EL84’s Fully Functional Sounds Great for Guitar or Harp 1958
I pulled this out of a working console about 25 years ago with the intention of making a boutique amp.
It has been sitting boxed up on a shelf in my smoke free home since then.
It was not until I pulled it off the shelf and powered it up (through a variac) for this listing, that I realized what a gem I had.
This thing is killer.
It has 3 RCA connector inputs with an input selector switch that includes some filtering options.
I had my Strat plugged into the tape inputand the amp screamed with the chime of a Vox AC-15.
Then I plugged into the phono input (which has an extra 12AX7 preamp stage) and wow, lots of volume and lots of low end too, reminds me of my old Fender Vibrolux.
So, this amp is ideal for a guitar or harp amp.
Lots of sound in a little, light package.
The face plate has a littlestain around the speaker selector switch that I think can be removed with someTLC, other than that it is all very clean for an amp of it’s age. It really needs no alterations to make it a cool little boutique amp, just a nice box toput it in.
I’m including the mahogany front that came with the amp.
Of course there are always little alterations that someone could make to this amp to make it exactly what they would want, but it really needs nothing. If you would feel the need to change any circuitry I also have a copy of the schematic of the amp.

All tubes test in the high good range and most are original high end European models Telefunken, Mullard, etc. They will be removed and wrapped in bubble wrap for shipment.
