Description
This is a beautiful vintage 60s (possibly late50s) TWA glass featuring their destination
of Germany. It has a wonderful Germany-themed
design on the front, and three TWA Boeing
707 aircraft surrounded by stars on the back.
The glass was made by Libbey Safedge
Glassware. It has no chips or cracks, and
the design (which I think is screen printed)
is in very well preserved condition. (Pardon
all the glare in my pictures - I took them
outside in the sunlight and the gold, in
particular, has a lot of glare.) The glass
measures 5 and 3/8 inches tall.
The original literature that came with this
glass indicates that the gold decoration
is 22 carat. The "silver" aircraft on the
back is palladium. The literature indicates
that the glass needs only to be wiped
with a smooth cloth, and that harsh
abrasives or strong detergents should
not be used.
If you collect airline memorabilia, this is a
wonderful glass to own. If you collect TWA
memorabilia and don't have this glass,
bid today!
