Framed Oil Painting on Canvas.
Clearly vintage Border Terrier oil painting on canvas portrait, unsigned, undated. Reverse side reveals aged look to canvas.
Canvas is 8" X 10", Outer dimensions of frame are 15" x 17".
Very difficult to find fine Border Terrier dog items, this is a special canvas!! This is a wonderful example of Primitive, Folk Art.
This painting is featured in the book: Dog Antiques and Collectibles by Patricia Robak, A Schiffer Book for Collectors, on page 19 as shown in the scan. The description estimates this as an early 20th Century painting.
Bought originally on Ebay about 20 years ago and has been in my own collection since that time. I am in the process of downsizing now.
