Description

Professionally serviced Pioneer SA-7500 2-channel integrated stereo amplifier. Completely refurbished, capacitors upgraded, all functions tested and passed. Expected to reliably meet or exceed original spec. Includes inputs for two turntables, a tuner, auxiliary source and two tape loops.

Initial Assessment:
Intermittent output
Hum from P.S.
Cracked solder joints on voltage regulators and some input connectors
Sticky AC switch
Corroded fuses
Check relay, resistor temp, P.S. voltage, ESR main filters, soldering, fuses
Clean switches and controls
Junction test transistors
Final calibration
Tightened fuse holders and replaced fuses
Upgraded 60% secondary P.S. caps
Replaced audio caps on amp board -
Replaced .47UF coupling caps with 1UF monolythics for improved impulse response
Replaced all bypass (gain) caps with slightly improved capacitance valve to improve freq response
All low ESR high temp Nichicon capacitors used
Inspected contacts for arc spots and corrosion
Buffed relay contacts and applied R100 finishing oil to preserve metal on metal contact and long term reliability
Tightened relay fronz for improved tension
Closely inspected amp and P.S. board for overheated resistors
Resoldered 10 - 15 suspect joints
Replaced third order filter capacitors
Cleaned and exercised all switches and controls x2, applied R100 for long term reliability
Applied switch lube to all switches and freed gummed up mech
Cleaned and exercised AC switch with Deoxit
Final calibration and test -
Checked bias, DC offset, ran phono for 2 hours
