A Pair of perfect working Stromberg Carlson AP-80 80 Watts Power Amplifiers with 2 Quad of strong 6550/KT88 or using the most current KT150 tubes:
I have these pair of Stromberg Carlson AP-80 Mono Block Power Amplifiers in my well-cared long term collection. These pair of Stromberg Carlson AP-80 were using quad 6550/KT88 audio power tubes in push-pull parallel to achieve over 80 Watts RMS designed in 60s. Because of using audio power tube 6550/KT88, also can use the most current KT150 tubes for much higher power output, these Mono power amplifiers are supper reliable and have very powerful audio sound for both high and low frequencies audio sounds.
This pair of Stromberg Carlson AP-80 put out 80 Watts RMS per Channels with very quiet and have very high quality sound for music listening. These mono amplifiers were designed with two set of power transformers, one for B+ high voltages, another one for all filaments so that the filament can left power on all times while the B+ high voltages can be turn off if it did not need during standby condition. Since it separated B+ and filament power supplies,
Their power transformers have almost twice the power it could deliver and they were huge in size.
These mono amplifiers could be continuously running 24/7 for just barely felt warm on their power transformers. All components in this pair of Stromberg Carlson AP-80 mono amplifiers are all original as I acquired many years ago from a retired professional collectors. Stromberg Carlson had designed in with very high quality components in their mono amplifiers, there are no repair or any issue during my collection. I have enjoyed with this pair for my music listening all these years. These pair of power amplifiers has much more solid power than my McIntosh MI-75 with just a Pair of 6550 tubes. I had posted the schematic in the eBay list. Now it is time to let them find other fine home. Once the winner received them, they will be plug & play after all the tubes are re-installed on them. They are rackmount industrial unit weight over 60 pounds with hinge and a twist lock to open up for access the components and wires connections inside their chassis.
I will remove all the tubes and pack them carefully to prevent any shipping issue. This pair of power amplifier will be well packed in two shipping boxes for safety delivery.
