Description

lafayette 250 tube amp works great needing a minimum of power supply caps replaced.
All Original. Played for an hour at high volume ok.
These Lafayette's are real sleepers. The 6cw5 output tubes are good sounding tubes with great bass push.
Brought it up slowly. I biased and balanced the mix lot of output tubes. Voltages look good. I cleaned controls and switches.
The amp sounds great as-is. There's a tiny bit of hum due to the power supply caps.
It needs recapping. The first power supply cap is warming quite a bit.
Also the bias cap can should be replaced with local caps.
The case is in good shape, bottom plate legs are intact
Potentiometers work.
One knob was replaced, the others are fair with pieces chipped off but functional.
I have not played through the phono section.
All tubes shown are included
One quad of different brand output tubes but testing strong and somewhat close. I was able to balance them in the amp.
7199's are closely matched between the two tubes at 80% on one section and 90% the other with 0 heater cathode leakage. they have some life left.
Three new Chinese shiny plate 12ax7's are included.
