    Description

Up for auction today is a H.H. Scott 299B integrated amplifier.
When I brought up on a variac I found it had
a bad section in one of the can capacitors
    ,
    (red X on it)
    and also
    some bad coupling caps
    .
The can cap section was bypassed with an under chassis cap for testing
    (yellow arrow in pic).
The output tube coupling caps were changed because they were electrically leaking
    (Green arrows in pic)
. The amp sounds great on my test speakers, the controls and switches are pretty quiet
    , but should be cleaned.
There are several things that are not perfect, there are a few blemishes on the faceplate, the "T" in "out" on the rumble filter silkscreen is missing. There are some small scratches on the faceplate which are pictured.
There are 2 tube shields missing
in the pictures, they were missing, I found some, and they have a little corrosion, but should clean up.
There is one ceramic resistor that was replaced in the past before I owned the unit
    ,
I put liquid electrical tape on the exposed wires to insulate them (shown in the last picture)The other pics were taken before it was applied.
The tubes have not been tested and are a mix of vintage foreign and US made, and are not guaranteed.
The output tubes are Genuine 7189 tubes
    The amp is "as is"
and should be serviced before extended use.
There is some slight rust on the transformers
which should be easy to clean off,
some of the RCA jacks also have some corrosion
, which also should be pretty easy to address.
There is a small blemish in the chassis between the shielded tubes
    , it's not very noticeable.
    The amp has no feet,
as it was supposed to be placed in a console, or wooden case, I could put some on it, but it would mean enlarging some of the chassis screw holes, then it would not be original.
There are a few screws missing on the bottom cover, some would have held the wooden case on it.
The amp is ASIS, no refunds, no return
Local pickup is OK if paid in cash
On the 3rd pic, there is reflection from the styrofoam at the bottom of the faceplate.because there are no feet, the bottom of the faceplate against the table has some scratches in it also, that are not visible unless turned upside down.
