Description
This is a beautifully restored example of a Harman Kardon Citation II stereo tube amplifier, manufactured in 1960. It has undergone a complete restoration by well known audio technician Jim McShane. It will be good to go for many more decades.New tubes in include a matched quad of Genalex Gold Lion KT88 along with NOS pairs of GE and Amperex driver tubes. A custom built cage has been added which fits perfectly and looks great.
The sound is absolutely incredible, LOTS of power for a tube amp and can drive pretty much any hi-fi speakers. This amplifier was in my main setup for many years running Klipsch Chorus II, B&W 683 and most recently Klipsch Forte II. I have more photos of the complete setup if you want to see them. My reason for selling is I have built my own KT88 SET amp and I likely won't ever be selling that. I'm downsizing my collection so look out for more listings from me including preamps, amplifiers and vintage tubes.
Also importantly is I have packed and shipped many vintage audio units, so I know how to make sure they are protected 100% against damage (no matter who the carrier is). I also welcome local pickup in the Boston area, I can meet you within a reasonable distance if you're coming from out of state.
