I've invested more into the restoration and upgrades to this amp than I probably should have, but the outcome was well worth it. Unfortunately I'm not in a place where it can be used so my loss is your gain. This amp deserves to be taken off the shelf and fully enjoyed.
The power tubes have been upgraded to the legendary and quite stunning
Gold Lion
KT-77's from Genalex. The power supply
transformer has been upgraded and all out of spec capacitors and resistors have been replaced and upgraded. The power cord has been ungraded to 14 gauge Belden with grounding and fitted with a hospital grade plug. As the photos show, the chassis, tube shield, and transformer covers are in near perfect condition as well.
All this combines to provide a listening experience that excels in ways rarely found in even carefully remanufactured itinerations of this highly respected design.
SHIPPING -- Local pickup is available. Shipping will include stretch wrapping the entire amp to protect it from fine scratches before bubble wrapping after removing, wrapping and separately boxing the tubes. Then an inner box fully packed with bubble wrap eliminating movement during shipping to provide the first layer of protection. Then rigid foam supports line the new double wall outer box for a structurally sound and durable package. As this detailed description foretells, I've successfully shipped all manners of audio equipment, including turntables and tube amps without incident.
