Dynaco PAS upgrade kit, Z-Series power supply & no tone control preamps

Description

This is our Z series PAS 2/3/3X upgrade kit. It consists of four separate pcb kits, made up of our Z-PSU power supply, Z-PC5 classic line preamp (no tone controls), Z-PC6 phono preamp and a new selector switch with its own small pcb. A new volume and balance control of the correct values to suit the Z series preamps is also incouded. This kit is supplied with all the necessary parts including comprehensive instruction manuals. Please note, these are 'loose' kits and require assembly and soldering of ALL parts! Wires and mounting hardware are NOT included.
This kit will
replace
the following circuits in your Dynaco PAS preamp - PC5 line preamp, PC6 phono preamp, selector switch, volume control, balance control, selenium rectifiers and capacitor for the filament supply and the multi cap can capacitor.
You will
loose
the following functions of your PAS preamp - Tone controls, blend switch, filter switch and loudness switch.
You will
retain
the following parts/functions of your Dynaco PAS preamp - PA211 power transformer, 12X4 tube rectifier and its socket, RCA jacks, Tape/Input switch, pilot light, knobs, chassis, face plate and power switch.
However, considering the average age of any Dynaco PAS these days is in excess of 50 years, we also strongly recommend that you consider replacing the RCA jacks, which we also sell as a separate kit, or give the existing RCA sockets and good cleaning.

So that you would not end up with holes in your face plate, we recommend that you retain all the switches and controls in their spots which no longer function with this kit!
