Here is a limited 30 cm (12") vinyl kit release from the Billiken Store in Japan depicting the biogenetic brothers who clashed in Toho's colorful kaiju spectacle War of the Gargantuas (1966). If the cellular level association with the Frankenstein monster from Frankenstein Conquers the World (1965) proves a stretch, this is nothing compared the the audacious antics of the carnivorous green Gaira versus the vegetarian brown Sanda as they are unable to reach bipartisan agreement on the treatment of humankind. Who can forget the opening scene of Gaira battling the octopus on the stormswept sea or Sanda's heartwrenching rescue of his belligerent brother from cutting maser canon lasers and electrocution.
There are several kits of the Gargantuas, most of which fail to capture the proper look of Sanda and Gaira. This Billiken kit is spot on and very limited, so if you have a soft spot for Toho's hairy ogres don't miss your chance to obtain this remarkable vinyl model kit.
