The Kamui™ manufacturer which is located in Japan came to the United States over 5 years ago seeking to show the American market that a pool cue tip can improve the playability of any cue and improve any player's game. When Kamui™ Japan approached us to start Kamui™ Tips America (a.k.a. KamuiTips.com) we were beyond enthusiastic to launch the tips into the American market. We immediately recognized that Kamui™ Tips are of the highest standard in billiard tips made today and advertised on every billiard magazine back then and spent thousands in this advertising. It wasn't long before we realized that the advertising was to no avail; we sold
only one tip
!
What happened you ask? Well, it was a hard lesson to learn; the American billiards market is
only
word of mouth. The question then became, "How do we perpetuate word of mouth?" Our solution to spreading the word within the American market was to push a lot of free sample tips to a lot of cue makers and cue repair guys. Another approach was offering the tip as an upgrade through a billiard retail store.
We admit, it's been a long and slow way of getting a product to market but it's worked... You're here reading this right?

"That's like saying a pro race car driver wont do better with higher quality tires. Think about it this way, the only part of a race car that touches the road is the tires. the only part of a pool cue that touches the ball is the tip/with chalk. I have two friends shooting kamui super softs. They are amazing. You can shoot with extreme english and have much less miscueing/deflecting. Being a layered tip they are on the pricy side, but well worth it."
