Alaskan Numamiut Eskimo Caribou Double Mask by Justus Mekiana -Mother & Child

Description

This wonderful Eskimo artist mask is made by Justus Mekiana of the Nanamiut people of northern Alaska in a small community called Anaktuvuk Pass. This mother and child mask is shaped from caribou hide, beaver fur for child's hair, sealskin eyebrows and lashes, and a coyote fur ruff.  This mask measures 8" wide and 9" long. There is small dent on the tip of Mom's nose and the coyote fur on the ruff on top is fragile (see photos). I will wrap this mask carefully for you. I charge actual costs for shipping.
